Sara Eelen

Sara Eelen (b. 1994) published her debut poetry collection, ‘The Necessary Crushing’, in 2022. The collection earned her the Debut Prize of the Society of Dutch Literature in 2023 and a shortlist nomination for the PrixFintro Prize. In January 2025 she published her second and most recent poetry collection, ‘Cratermouth’.

Eelen is a member of the Climate Poets, a network of Dutch-speaking poets and spoken-word artists from Belgium and the Netherlands who raise awareness about climate change. In addition, she serves as an ambassador for EcoJustice.earth, which campaigns to make people and organisations legally accountable for the state of the Earth.
