My Flanders Literature

Flanders Literature awards grants to foreign language publishers for the translation of literary work written or illustrated by residents of Dutch-speaking Belgium. The work should originally have been published in Dutch by a Flemish or Dutch publishing house or staged by a professional theatre company in Flanders or in the Netherlands. Flanders Literature may also pay for travel costs incurred by authors travelling abroad to promote their translated works.

If you would like to apply for a grant, you can do so through the online portal My Flanders Literature. Please always read the guidelines carefully before applying.

How do I register?

If you have applied for a grant in 2018 or 2019, it is likely that you have been assigned an account already. On the Login page, use the email address that was used for that application, click ‘Forgot password?’ and then ‘Create new password’.

If you  have never applied for a grant from Flanders Literature, or the last time you applied was before 2018, please follow the instructions for creating a new account, as detailed in the user manual.

User manual

We have created a manual to guide you through the application process step by step. If you have any questions, chances are you will find the answers here. Please always follow the procedures described in the manual. If something is not clear, let us know!
