Flip through Flanders is an initiative that promotes Dutch-language literature from Flanders across the UK and Ireland. Catch authors and translators at live events and workshops as they shine a spotlight on the literary landscape of northern Belgium. From picture books to theatre, from poetry and novels to non-fiction: come and flip through Flanders.

Dickie Invasion Part Two - Pieter De Poortere - Exhibition at LICAF

Dickie was created by Pieter de Poortere more than 20 years ago. He’s the ultimate loser, naive and a bit stupid, Dickie that is not Pieter! Despite this, he manages to survive on his own, thanks to both his opportunism and cowardice. 

Featuring Farmer Dickie and his partner Vicky and some of their best adventures plus some very special landscape paintings with unexpected cameo appearances.

Showcase Theatre from Flanders at Voila! Theatre Festival, with a script in hand reading of two recently translated theatre texts from Flanders:

  • ‘Hide’ by Anna Carlier, translated by David McKay,
  • ‘Gen X Has Left the Chat’ by Annelies Verbeke, translated by Liz Waters.
