Hanna Wheeler

Hanna is a Belgian Canadian who lives and works in Toronto as a copywriter and Dutch-to-English translator.

Her translations range from creative copy to popular fiction and literary titles, including a series of sweetly funny romance novels by Iris Visser and a visually stunning publication highlighting the work of interior designer Geoffroy Van Hulle. She has translated excerpts of young adult novels, children’s picture books, and historical non-fiction as well as promotional content for publishers in Europe and North America.

Hanna spent her early career in television production before pivoting to writing and translation work. She has attended an array of specialized workshops, including an intensive program at the British Centre for Literary Translation with a focus on literature from Flanders.

On any given day, you will find Hanna at her desk by the big window, out walking her scribble of a dog, or sipping vanilla lattes at a local coffee shop. “Flabbergasted” is her favorite word.
