Katjusa Rucigaj

Katjusa Rucigaj (b. 1973) studied Slovenian language and literature and cultural sociology. In 2000 she started translating Dutch films for Slovenian national television. Since 2004 she has been translating literature from Dutch into Slovenian.

She has translated poetry by authors including Hugo Claus, Hugues C. Pernath, Paul Snoek, Miriam Van hee, Luuk Gruwez, Peter Verhelst, Charles Ducal, Roland Jooris, Tsead Bruinja and Bas Belleman.

Another area she focuses on is children's and youth literature, with translations of works such as ‘Against the Odds’ by Marjolein Hof, ‘The Day My Father Became a Bush’ by Joke Van Leeuwen, The Garden of the Whale' by Toon Tellegen, ‘My Particularly Peculiar Week with Tess’ and 'Plaster' by Anna Woltz.
