Ömür Akyüzlü Lüker

Ömür Akyüzlü Lüker (b. 1982) first studied International Relations, followed by Turkish Language and Literature, and later earned a master’s degree in Comparative Literature. After an initial career as a Turkish professor at Istanbul Technical University, she decided in 2023 to pursue literary translation professionally, specializing in children’s and young adult literature. In 2024, she took part in a development grant and mentorship program organized by the Centre of Expertise for Literary Translation. Her first published translation was 'Mijn jaar in een tent' by Tiny Fisscher. She lives and works in Lier, Belgium.
