Anne-Laure Van Neer
Anne-Laure Van Neer (b. 1975) situates her work at the intersection of crime and humour. Her debut novel, ‘Justine’ (2015), was nominated for the Hercule Poirot Prize, the annual literary prize for the best Flemish crime novel. The books that followed were nominated several times too, and in 2022 she was at last awarded that accolade. In her work Van Neer examines socially relevant subjects with humour and suspense, casting doubt on clichés in the process.
