Edward van de Vendel

Dutch author Edward van de Vendel (b. 1964)  is a prolific literary all-rounder: novels for young adults, children’s stories, songs, nonfiction, poems, picture books, translations… he can do it all. He is also socially involved and embraces his readers without sacrificing literary quality. The themes running through his diverse oeuvre are the important life questions with which his characters struggle as they try to secure a place in this world. His many awards include the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis and the Woutertje Pieterse Prize.
