Griet Vandermassen (b. 1970) studied Germanic philology and philosophy at Ghent University. She has been a freelance writer for De Morgen, a daily newspaper, and gained her doctorate in philosophy with a thesis on the conflict between feminist and Darwinist portrayals of the human species. Her interests include the philosophy of science, evolutionary biology, evolutionary psychology and feminist theory. Back in 2009, along with Chris Buskes and Ranne Hovius, she published ‘In Darwin’s Words. Life, work and thought of Charles Darwin’.
