Henri van Daele

Henri van Daele (1946-2010) was already publishing stories and columns in papers and magazines as a student. His impressive, varied body of work comprises over 150 books, including numerous historical novels. He was a born storyteller, known for his empathy, humour and keen skills of observation. He won many prizes, including the prestigious Flemish State Prize for Children’s Literature, which he received in 1983 for ‘Pitjemoer’, a book about his grandfather.
