Jan Lauwereyns
Jan Lauwereyns (b. 1969) is a Flemish poet, novelist, essayist and translator. He lives and works in Fukuoka (Japan), where he teaches cognitive science and bioethics at Kyushu University. Since making his poetry debut with ‘Bequeathed Sonnets’ in 1999, he has published ten collections of poetry, as well as novels, essays and academic monographs. He has received the Hugues C. Pernath Prize and the VSB Poetry Prize, and has been shortlisted for several other literary awards.
