Luc Deflo

Luc Deflo (1958-2018) was one of Flanders’ most well-known crime authors, with an impressive number of bestsellers to his name. ‘Naked Souls’ (Naakte zielen), his debut, was also the first of his psychological thrillers about the popular detective duo Deleu and Bosmans. It was an immediate hit, and was nominated for the Hercule Poirot Prize. He won the same prize in 2008 for Pitbull, the ninth book in the series. Deflo's work is renowned for its strong psychological characterisations and for the rawness of the stories.
