Paul Claes

Paul Claes (b. 1943) is active as a poet, essayist, novelist, anthologist and translator. Many of his works have been awarded or nominated for major literary prizes. In ‘Echoes, Echoes’ he states that all texts refer to other texts. This is illustrated in his creative work. In his poetry he is adept at literary imitation, and pastiches and literary falsifications often lend his work a whimsical undertone. His 125th book was published in 2016.
