Emma Rault

Emma Rault is a writer and translator from Dutch and German into English. Her literary translations to date include 'Ghosts of Berlin' by Rudolph Herzog (Melville House, 2019), poetry by Hilde Domin, essays by Auke Hulst and stories and poems for the Dutch bilingual children's magazine 'BoekieBoekie'. She also regularly translates material for various museums, universities, magazines and arts organizations across the English-, German- and Dutch-speaking world, with clients including 'ArtReview', ArtEZ Press and Amsterdam University Press. Her own essays and criticism have appeared in 'Bitch', 'The Collapsar', 'Lambda Literary' and more. She is the recipient of the 2017 Geisteswissenschaften International Nonfiction Translators Prize for translation from German into English. She lives in Los Angeles.
