Erhan Gürer

Erhan Gürer (b. 1969) studied Turkish language and literature partly at the University of Leiden and the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands and partly at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. He worked as a research associate at the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the University of Leiden. His main task there was to work on the first scientific Dutch-Turkish dictionary. Currently, he combines his work at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs with literary translation. His translated works include books by Multatuli (Max Havelaar), Gerard Reve (The Evenings), Ida Simons (A Foolish Virgin), Annie M.G. Schmidt (Tow-Truck Pluck) and Bernlef (Out of Mind).
