Franco Paris

Franco Paris (b. 1959) teaches Dutch at the Università L’Orientale in Naples and co-ordinated literary translation courses and workshops at the KU Leuven and the universities of Utrecht, Bologna and Ljubljana. In 2004 he was the first winner of the NLPVF translator’s prize and since 2008 he is Foreign Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Dutch Language and Literature in Gent.

His literary translations include works by Beatrijs van Nazareth, Bredero, Frederik Van Eeden, Paul Van Ostaijen, Johan Huizinga, Arthur Van Schendel, Hella S. Haasse, Hugo Claus, Cees Nooteboom, David Van Reybrouck, Frank Westerman, Jan Fabre, Jan Lauwers and Arnon Grunberg.
