Hasan Türksel

Hasan Türksel (b. 1980) is from Izmir in Turkey where he studied Economics. He has been publishing his stories, essays and interviews in literary magazines since 2005. He moved to The Netherlands in 2008 and now lives in Utrecht. He started translating in 2016. In 2017, he participated in the ELV Summer School for Literary Translation in Utrecht. His translated works include books by Jozua Douglas and Joke van Leeuwen’s ‘When My Father Became a Bush’ (Toen Mijn Vader Een Struik Werd) and ‘Iep!’ (Iep!). Upcoming projects include ‘War and Turpentine’ (Oorlog en terpentijn) by Stefan Hertmans and three children books by various Dutch writers in 2020.
