Inga Karlsberga

Inga Karlsberga (b. 1971) studied Philosophy in the University of Latvia and worked many years as the teacher of philosophie and history of culture, since 2003 she works as a project manager and literary editor for Janis Roze publishing house and as a freelance translator from German, Russian and Dutch. She has translated around 30 fiction and non-fiction books, mostly children’s and youth literature, including works by Janosch, E.H. Gombrich, J. Richter, B. Wells. Her work as the translator is recognized by several nominations and prizes. In 2017 she has received Latvian children literature prize Jānis Baltvilks Award for the best translation.

She has translated from Dutch into Latvian books by Loes Riphagen and Sylvia Vanden Heede.
