Johanna Hedenberg

Johanna Hedenberg (b. 1968) established herself as a translator of Italian and French fiction, with authors like Ferrante and Calvino. But she also has a background as an EU translator in Belgium, where she lived for nine years and learnt Dutch (which she later studied at Stockholm University). Her first translation from Dutch, Eva Meijer’s non-fiction book Animal Languages (Dierentalen), was published in 2019 and followed by the novel The Bird Cottage (Het vogelhuis) by the same author.
