Maria Cristina Coldagelli

Maria Cristina Coldagelli (b. 1960) studied art history at the University of Roma La Sapienza. She translates mostly nonfiction as well as fiction.

Her Dutch-Italian translations include ‘Van Dyck’ (Van Dyck) by K. Van der Stighelen, ‘From Aladdin to the Golden Goose. A Fairytale Dictionary’ (Van Aladdin tot Zwaan kleef aan. Lexikon van sprookjes) by A.J. Dekker, J. van der Kooi and T. Meder and ‘Thinking Tools: A Philosophical Overhaul’ (Denkgereedschap: een filosofische onderhoudsbeurt) by P. Wouters. Additionally, she has translated Growing Older Without Growing Old (Oud worden zonder het te zijn) by R. Westendorp and ‘The Butterfly and the Storm’ (De vlinder en de storm) by Walter Lucius with her colleague Claudia Cozzi.

Coldagelli’s translations regularly appear in art books and exhibition catalogues edited by various authors.
