Patricia Couto

Patricia Couto (b. 1950) is a literary translator from Dutch into Portuguese. She was born in the Netherlands, studied Germanic Philology (Faculdade de Letras Universidade de Coimbra 1975) and holds a MA in Comparative Literature (Faculdade de Letras Universidade de Lisboa 1996) and a PhD in Translation Studies (FLUL 2012). She has taught Dutch Language and Culture at the University of Lisbon and is member of the Centro de Estudos Comparatistas (FLUL). 

She has translated works by Jan Slauerhoff, Gerrit Komrij, Cees Nooteboom, Joris Tulkens, Etty Hillesum, Stefan Hertmans and Marieke Lucas Rijneveld.
