Radka Smejkalova (b. 1973) is a literary translator and journalist. She studied English and American Studies and Mass Communication (M.A. degree at Charles University in Prague) and Journalism (B.S. degree at Suffolk University in Boston).
She has accomplished the highest level of proficiency in Dutch at the Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie) and lived in Belgium between 2000-2006. After a successful career as a journalist she has turned to translating books from English and Dutch. She is particularly interested in literature from Flanders. Her translation debut from Dutch was the novel 'Het beste wat we hebben' by Griet Op de Beeck.
