Erik Spinoy

Erik Spinoy (b. 1960) is a poet, essayist and professor of Dutch literature at the University of Liège. His first collection of poetry, ‘The Hunters in the Snow’, was awarded the Flemish Debut Prize; his second collection, ‘Susette’, won him the prestigious Hugues C. Pernath Prize. Based partly on the latter volume, Spinoy came to be seen as one of the main representatives of postmodernism in Flemish poetry. His seventh collection, ‘Soundproof Room’, was nominated for the 2012 VSB Poetry Prize and awarded the Jan Campert Prize.
