What is the worst thing that can happen to a person?

Little Sis!

Peter De Graef

Hildegard is talking to her therapist. Her entire life flashes by, but her absurdly giggly attitude keeps the audience and the therapist at something of an arm’s length. With the aid of an almost thriller-like plot Hildegard’s traumas unfold step by step, while the author dives deep into the character’s past. The therapist plays not just Hildegard’s interlocutor but also the seven characters who have influenced her life profoundly.

A script typical of Peter De Graef, philosophical, filmic and with beautiful metaphors, like watching a Netflix series, but in the theatre. Major existential issues will sit in the seat next to you.

‘Little Sis!’ is typical of Peter De Graef’s work: philosophical, poetic and at the same time painstakingly composed. Hildegard’s story stimulates our imaginations and explores the boundaries of recognisable experience. What lies behind her studious laughter? What is true and what is a lie? What’s the worst thing that can happen to a person? And how does anyone carry on after that?

‘Little Sis!’ is an unusually forceful theatrical thriller. ★★★★
