Birthe Lundsgaard

Birthe Lundsgaard completed her master’s degree in English and Dutch from the universities of Aarhus and Copenhagen in 1983. She went on to do postgraduate studies in translation theory and practice, with special reference to translation for the media at the Centre for Translation at the University of Copenhagen. From 1984 until 2004, she worked as an official of the European Commission for the Danish translation service. In 2008, she was awarded the Martinus Nijhoff Prize for translators by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Amsterdam for her translations of Flemish and Dutch literature into Danish.
