Christina Siever
Christina Siever (b. 1982) studied German and Dutch literature and linguistics as well as history at the Universities of Zurich and Berlin and holds a PhD in German linguistics. She has translated books by Gerardus van der Leeuw, Salo Muller, Etty Hillesum, Marjan Slob and Hella and Sandra Rottenberg. In 2019 and 2024 she received a working grant from the Deutscher Übersetzerfonds (German Translator Fund), and in 2019 the ELV (Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen) has funded a mentorship with Christiane Kuby. In 2023 Christina Siever was awarded the Else Otten Translation Prize for her translation of Etty Hillesum's diaries.
