Daniel Hugo

Daniel Hugo (b. 1955) used to teach African and Dutch Literature at the Universiteit van die Vrystaat. He is also the author of 15 poetry collections and a number of anthologies of poetry in Afrikaans. Between 2010 and 2014 he was employed as a translator and editor by Protea Boekhuis. He has translated works by authors including Harry Mulisch, Rutger Kopland, Miriam Van hee, David van Reybrouck, Herman De Coninck, Tom Lanoye, Stefan Hertmans, Herman Koch, Leonard Nolens, Saskia Goldschmidt, Anne Provoost, Pieter Aspe and Bart Moeyaert.
