Eva Schweikart

Eva Schweikart (b. 1959) has been working for a German publishing house for more than ten years. She has been a freelance translator since 1997, also editing translations and writing assessments of books for publishers. Most of her clients are German publishing houses, such as Piper, Aufbau, Claassen, Urachhaus, Sauerländer and Thienemann. Her most important translations include children’s books by Sjoerd Kuyper, Paul Biegel and Jan Terlouw, and fiction by Fleur Bourgonje, Philipp Snijder and Simone van der Vlugt. Over the years, Schweikart has translated around 80 books from Dutch. In 2019 she was granted the Christoph Martin Wieland Translation Prize for 'Emilia und der Junge aus dem Meer', her translation of 'Lampje' by Annet Schaap.
