Guy Rooryck

Guy Rooryck (b. 1956) is a professor of translation, interpreting and communication and is head of the French department at the University of Gent. His current research focuses on translation and cultural transfer within 18th-century French and British philosophical discourse. Additionally he translates academic articles into French; some of his translations have appeared in the magazine Septentrion. His literary translations include the novels Land of Promise by Joseph Pearce and Monte Carlo by Peter Terrin.
