Hedda Vormeland

Hedda Vormeland (b. 1977) majored in literature, Scandinavian languages and Dutch Studies. A full-time translator since 2007, she has translated more than thirty Flemish and Dutch titles into Norwegian, including The Misfortunates by Dimitri Verhulst and War and Turpentine by Stefan Hertmans. For the latter she was nominated for the Kritikerprisen and the Bastianprisen - two prominent Norwegian translation prizes - and has been nominated for the Norwegian 'Ministry of Culture's literary prizes for children and young adults' for translating ‘Everyone’s Sorry Nowadays’ by Bart Moeyaert in 2021, and won the prize for translating 'Lampie' by Annet Schaap in 2022.
