Heinrich Koop (b. 1961) studied Dutch and history at the University of Cologne and the Katholieke Rijksuniversiteit Nijmegen (Staatsexamen 1992) and then went on to complete a course in literary translation from Dutch at the University of Münster. Together with Franca Fritz, his wife and translation partner, he has translated around 300 books from Dutch and English. His clients are primarily publishing houses, museums and cultural organisations. The best-known author whose work he has translated is Johan Cruijff.
