Inese Paklone

Inese Paklone was editor at the music department of Lativijas Radio, the Latvian state radio station, from 1975 through 1992. In 1993 she became director of the Lativan author’s union ALLA/LA A. Additionally she is a writer and translator of Dutch-language children’s literature into Latvian, including ‘Minoes’, ‘Tow-Truck Pluck’ (Pluk van de Petteflet) and ‘Otje’ by Annie M.G. Schmidt, ‘Miss Stove’ (Juffrouw Kachel) by Toon Tellegen, ‘Gruesome School Trip’ (De Griezelbus) by Paul van Loon, and various Dutch and Flemish children’s songs. In 2010 she was awarded the Auteursrecht Oneindigheid prize for her translation of ‘Meester Jaap’ by Jacques Vriens.
