Irina Leichenko

Irina Leichenko (b. 1981) has lived in the Netherlands since 2006. In 2009 she graduated as a translator from Dutch into Russian. She translates fiction, nonfiction and children’s literature. She has translated works by Sjoerd Kuyper, Annet Schaap, Tommy Wieringa and Jan Brokken, among others. In 2015 she was nominated for the Nora Gal Prize for her translation of ‘Zusya on the Roof’, a story by Nicole Krauss.
