Irina Leichenko

Irina Leichenko (b. 1981) has lived in the Netherlands since 2006. In 2009 she graduated as a translator from Dutch into Russian and she has worked as a legal translator since then. She also translates fiction, nonfiction and children’s literature. She has translated works by Tommy Wieringa, Jan Brokken, Peer Wittenbols and Edward van de Vendel. In 2015 she was nominated for the Nora Gal Prize for her translation of ‘Zusya on the Roof’, a story by Nicole Krauss.
