Janine Malz
Janine Malz (b. 1984) holds a degree in translation for English, Italian and Dutch from FASK, Germersheim (University of Mainz) and a Master degree in literary translation from LMU, Munich. After graduating in 2010 she worked for several years as an in-house translator in Sheffield (UK) and Munich. After an internship in the editorial office of the publisher Diana Verlag (Random House), she started out in 2015 as a freelance literary translator. She has translated crime fiction, romance novels, historical novels, poetry for children, travel guides as well as non-fiction. Her translations from Dutch into German include authors such as Bregje Hofstede, Simone van der Vlugt and Kelly Weekers.
Janine Malz serves on the board of Munich’s literary translator association (MÜF) and she also occasionally works as a lecturer at university on literary translation topics.
