Olivera Petrović van der Leeuw

Olivera Petrović van der Leeuw (b. 1953) worked in Yugoslavia as a teacher of philosophy, and translated philosophy texts from German into Serbo-Croatian, including work by W. Benjamin and Jürgen Habermas. Since settling in Amsterdam in 1994, her translations also include works by Jeroen Brouwers, Harry Mulisch, Simon Vestdijk, Willem Elsschot, Johan Huizinga and Toon Tellegen. She is co-founder and editor of the series ‘Dutch Literature in Translation’ at the publisher Prometej in Novi Sad, which since its inception has published more than fifty Flemish and Dutch authors.
