Ronald Brouwer

Ronald Brouwer (b. 1964) is the artistic director of Teatro de La Abadía in Madrid. He has translated plays by Hugo Claus, Maria Goos, Tom Lanoye and Lot Vekemans from Dutch into Spanish. He also made a comprehensive rhyming translation of Gerbrand Bredero’s ‘The Spanish Brabanter’. These translations were performed or published in Spain and several countries in Latin America. Brouwer has also translated poetry by Hugo Claus, Bart Moeyaert and Judith Herzberg, as well as ‘The Evenings’ van Gerard Reve.
