Benjamin Van Tourhout

Benjamin Van Tourhout (b. 1977) is an actor, director, playwright and researcher. He has played various roles in television series and in Eric de Volder’s Toneelgroep Ceremonia. In 2003 Van Tourhout became artistic manager and director of Toneelgroep NUNC, for which he wrote and directed ‘Raisonnez’, ‘Evariste’, the ‘Borgia Trilogy’ and ‘Elk Alleen’. Van Tourhout has been a lecturer in Drama/Theatre, Creative Writing and History and a researcher at LUCA School of Arts and KU Leuven since 2005. In 2018 he was awarded his Ph.D. for his thesis ‘Hybrid Heroes and Ambiguous Empathy’.
