Andrea Kluitmann
Andrea Kluitmann (b. 1966) has a master’s degree in German language and literature. Since 1993, she has been translating novels, books for children and young adults, plays, graphic novels and nonfiction, particularly texts about psychology. She has translated work by authors including Arnon Grünberg, Hella Haasse, Joke van Leeuwen, Anna Woltz, Gerbrand Bakker and Brecht Evens.
Kluitmann also works as a German tutor, mainly for authors and for people working in the cultural sector. She runs workshops on literary translation and public speaking for translators, writes reading reports and columns for the Amsterdam Translators' House.
