Stefanie Ochel grew up in Bonn, Germany. After completing an M.A. in Linguistics, as well as German and English Literature, she spent a year in Helsinki, Finland, and eight years in England, working as a university teacher of German as a foreign language. In 2017, she moved to Berlin, where she now works full time as a literary translator. She translates from Dutch, English and French into German. She has translated several novels and children’s non-fiction works, as well as some poetry.
