Stefano Musilli (b. 1987) studied translation and interpreting at the University of Trieste and further specialised in the translation of postcolonial texts at the University of Pisa. He has been working as a freelance translator since 2013, focusing primarily on contemporary Dutch and Flemish fiction. His translations include works by prominent Dutch-speaking authors such as Herman Koch, H.M. van den Brink, Etty Hillesum, Martin Michael Driessen, Inge Schilperoord, and Rodaan Al Galidi. His translation of Al Galidi’s 'The Autistic and the Carrier Pidgeon' (De autist en de postduif) was shortlisted for the Babel-booksinitaly Translation Prize. He regularly translates for the Italian weekly magazine Internazionale.
